Orphan Boy Resources Inc., the “Company”, of Vancouver, British Columbia is pleased to announce the acquisition by cell staking of 1,570 hectares of mineral property adjacent the historical Cottonbelt lead + zinc occurrence. The property is located approximately 70km northwest of the City of Revelstoke, British Columbia.
The capsule description of geological characteristics from the BC Geological Survey Minfile provides the following profile of the Cottonbelt mineralization: “Previous observations refer to the distinct similarities between the Cottonbelt and the famous world class Broken Hill lead, zinc deposit of Australia”.
In 1996, surface drilling tested the down dip extension of the sulphide-oxide layer at a depth of 2,400 feet. Drilling proved that the distinctive enclosing stratigraphy of the Cottonbelt horizon exists on both limbs of the Mount Grace Syncline, “MGS”, but drilling failed to intersect the sulphide-oxide layer at the hinge.
The Company is planning geological reconnaissance designed to calculate the complex hinge geometry with a view toward future drilling. The sulphide-oxide layer may attain much greater thickness at the hinge of the MGS than the previously tested upper or lower limb zones. The best core drilling grades intersected to date (not N.I. 43-101 compliant) at a width greater than one-meter assayed 10% to 12% combined lead + zinc.
