Vancouver, BC. Mr. Ronald A. Coombes, President and CEO of Orphan Boy Resources Inc., (TSX.V-ORS), is pleased to report that Integrex Engineering has identified a significant soil geochemical anomaly on the Company’s Rain Property. The Rain Property is located near the Company’s recently permitted 1,360 metric tonne per day Goldstream Custom Processing Plant in southeastern British Columbia.
The soil anomaly is comprised of elevated copper, lead, zinc, gold, silver, molybdenum and tungsten. The Alfie exposure flanks the geochemical anomaly; both are located on a moderately sloping hillside. The previously reported Alfie outcrop (NR-04-30) returned 15% lead, 7% zinc, 3.5 gpmt gold and 300 gpmt silver over a channel-sampled exposed width of 2.3 metres. The soil survey was conducted over a field grid with line spacing of 50 metres and samples were collected from the B-Horizon every 25 metres along the grid lines. A recent data compilation has revealed that a dense cluster of anomalous samples fall within a footprint of about 250 meters by 200 meters.
An anomalous assay for a given element is defined as one exceeding the 95th percentile of the entire 700-sample soil survey. For copper that 95th percentile threshold value is 119ppm. Similarly, threshold assays of 83.1ppm, 300ppm, 7.7ppb, 577ppb, 5.0ppm and 6.6ppm were determined by the assay results for lead, zinc, gold, silver, molybdenum and tungsten respectively. The footprint of the soil anomaly contains assays as high as 467ppm copper, 753ppm lead, 1006ppm zinc, 1263ppb gold, 875ppb silver, 9.6ppm molybdenum and 19.9ppm tungsten.
All samples were assayed by ACME Analytical Laboratories of Vancouver, BC; ACME is registered with ISO 9001:2000 FM63007 accreditation. Each sample was analysed by 37 element ICP-MS from a 30 gram subsample (ACME procedure 1F30). This area of anomalous samples represents a high-priority target that Orphan Boy intends to further explore and core drill in the coming field season. A compilation map showing the anomaly can be viewed at the Company’s website at www.bethlehemmining.com.
